A 14 Year Old from Scarborough is taking on odd jobs to help pay for a new headquarters for Filey Sea Cadets.
Aiden Philips is trying to raise two thousand pounds to help with the upgrade works for the Filey Sea Cadet Building on Southdene.
Aiden told Paddy @ Breakfast why he's taking on the work.
The Sea Cadets in Filey have ambitious plans to redevelop their existing site on Southdene, the idea is to create a new building within its existing footprint, which would be purpose-built for the delivery of Sea Cadets activities..
Aiden has launched a Just Giving page to help with the fundraising effort, he says:
"The best thing in my life is attending Filey sea cadets twice a week, it is incredible!
it has helped me so much in life, I have made friends all over Britain, the sea cadets leaders are such amazing people, they help me achieve my goals, encourage me, believe in me, give me fantastic opportunity's and I can talk to them about anything and they always listen and give me good advice.
My dream was/is to go in the navy but sadly been diagnosed with epilepsy 2 years ago that isn't able to happen, that said I would love to show them how much they all mean to me and give them something back, I am lucky to be in a position where I can give my spare time to do jobs to raise money for Filey sea cadets in helping them to getting a new unit, I will be doing this up to September 2023"
Aiden told Paddy @ Breakfast what sort of jobs he's doing.
Aiden adds:
"I know times are hard for everyone so I am not putting prices on jobs, pay what you like... if I can raise money for sea cadets and help people then I am happy. I will be setting up a just giving page so all work I do please pay on there and then money goes straight to them, if paid in cash my mum will put in her account and pay on the go fund me page so all money I raise is there"
