Officers from the Road Policing Group at North Yorkshire Police have stopped several drivers for drink and drug driving over the weekend.
In the early hours of Friday morning officers stopped a car heading out of Scarborough. The driver has been charged to court after failing a roadside breath test.

On Friday evening a car in Whitby was stopped after being seen with faulty brake lights. The driver tested positive for Cocaine.

Over the weekend two further vehicle stops in Scarborough also resulted in positive tests for Cocaine

Officers have also stopped vehicles which were uninsured

And on the A171 near Whitby officers say they followed a van which was straddling the central white lines then chose to overtake another vehicle across a solid white line approaching the brow of a hill.
