After Bridlington's 6 game unbeaten run ended this week, this side are looking for a return of form at Pontefract today.
Due to an unplayable pitch, Pontefract’s scheduled trip to Hebburn Town last Saturday was called off. As a result, it will have been a fortnight since the Colls last took to the field, and exactly a month since they played a home game.
On the contrary, the Seasiders are in amongst a busy schedule having played on Tuesday night and are also in East Riding Senior Cup Semi Final action midweek the following week.
It was a disappointing 3-0 defeat for Bridlington Town at the hands of Cleethorpes Town, with the Owls putting in a dominant performance from start to finish.
The same starting lineup that played against Long Eaton took to the field against Cleethorpes, with Ryan Caulfiled returning to the bench and George Harrison missing out through illness.
Assistant manager Andy Norfolk told us that Eddie Rogerson and Matty Dixon may be available against Pontefract to help bolster the squad and give manager Adrian Costello more options.
Prior to the midweek loss, Bridlington Town were on a six-game unbeaten run and were looking good under the new management of Costello.
They occupy 11th position with 38 points. Pontefract sit two place and two points above the Seasiders, so a win would see Bridlington Town leapfrog them.
It’s been four games since the Colls last picked up a win, that coming on 11th February at home to Brighouse Town.
They have picked up just two points in the four games since, with their last result ending in a goalless draw against relegation-threatened Grantham Town, despite the Gingerbreads being reduced to 10 men for the final 20 minutes.
Bridlington Town were on the receiving end of a 5-0 battering against Pontefract earlier in the season, with Pontefract top scorer Adam Priestley netting a hattrick that game. The attacker has 15 league goals so far, the third most in the division.
