The Old Town Association says the event will go ahead later this month but without road closures or the funfair.
The Old Town Association was forced to cancel it's popular 1940's Festival last weekend after it failed to secure road closures for that event.
The cancellation came just a week ahead of the festival and lead to local traders banding together to stage an replacement Vintage Festival.
In a post on social media the Old Town Association has revealed it also doesn't have road closures in place for the Summer Fete on June 25th, but has said that the even will go ahead but without the planned funfair.
The post says:
"We are pleased to say we can go ahead with our Summer Fete after exploring every avenue we could from being let down with road closure for our events this June, the roads won’t be closed but we can still enjoy the day.
Coastal Voices, Makara Morris Dancers, face painting, a variety of stalls, the RNLI and their mascot and the Priory Church Rooms serving cream teas will all still be there. But due to health and safety reasons the funfair will now be unable to come.
Come along and support these fabulous traders, we look forward to seeing you there."
The Bridlington Old Town Association say they were devastated to have to cancel the 1940’s festival this year saying:
"The cancellation was wholly due to a member of the committee, who was tasked and trusted to apply for the road closure and event’s license, as he had in previous years, each meeting from January he was asked and said it was done.
He failed to do this on time and by the time he admitted this to us and despite last minute efforts by the rest of the committee and fabulous staff at the Highways department at the East Riding Council, permission could not be granted to hold this event."
The Summer Fete will take place on Church Green on Sunday 25th June.
