A special animation celebrating 200 years of the RNLI is to be projected onto the lifeboat station in Bridlington tonight and in Scarborough tomorrow.
The 20 minute film has been created by local people bought together by local theatre group Animated Objects.
Lee Threadgold has helped put the film together.
Hundreds of local residents have worked on different sections of the film, which is a mixture of stop motion and digital animation, digital stills inspired by archive photography and live footage taken on board lifeboats from both stations.
It is accompanied by a soundtrack featuring the voices of local schoolchildren, crew members, and rescue survivors.
Lee Threadgold says that the film has been created by a range of local groups and individuals .
You can see the completed film at the following times:
- Bridlington (on the side wall of the Spa building next to the lifeboat station) 6.00pm -7.00pm on Sunday 3rd March
- Scarborough (on the beach side of the lifeboat station) 6.00pm - 7.00pm on Monday 4th March
The film itself runs at approx. 20 minutes in length and will be shown on a loop each evening
