After the previous week's FA Cup defeat, at Bishop Auckland, Bridlington Town were looking to bounce back as they returned to the North East for their opening NPL East fixture.
Adie Costello's men fell beind inside ten minutes but battled back as Andy Norfolk levelled on 35 minutes.
However, the second half belonged to the Tyne & Wear side who fired in two more strikes for a 3-1 victory.
