Scarborough Athletic won at Stafford Rangers to move within four points of local rivals Whitby Town, who they meet on Tuesday night.
A Nathan Cartman goal was enough to settle the trip to former Conference club Stafford Rangers and end a run of one win in six going into the trip.
Whitby, meanwhile, were beaten 1-0, by Witton Albion, at the Towbar Express Stadium. It was a fourth successive defeat for the Blues, who conceded midway through the first half and were prevented from a heavier defeat by Shane Bland's late penalty save.
Bridlington Town are celebrating back to back victories after an epic spot-kick victory saw them advance in the FA Trophy.
Danny Earl netted twice and Leon Dawson scored a late free-kick to earn a 3-3 draw with Sheffield FC in the second qualifying round of the competition. Brett Agnew's men then won the resulting shoot-out 4-3 at the Hudgell Solicitor's Stadium.
