Whitby Town lost their opening NPL Premier game, at Matlock Town, on Saturday with star Brad Fewster limping off in the first half.
The former Middlesbrough marksman netted six times in pre-season but after Matlock led in the first half, the striker came off with a hamstring injury.
It was a bitter blow for the Seasiders who will assess the frontman before Tuesday's first home game of the season, against Liversedge.
