National Highways say the road has reopened after an earlier collision
North Yorkshire Police closed the A64 in both directions at around 7am this morning near Malton.
The closure followed what police described as a serious collision involving two vehicles near High Hutton
The closure was initially at Golden Hill but later widened to include the entire stretch from York to Malton.
National Highways reported at 5pm that the road had reopened following the conclusion of investigation work by North Yorkshire Police.
The road agency warn that there are residual delays in the area.
There are planned works on the A64 tonight that will see the road closed again from 8pm until 6am between Hopgrove at York and Claxton.
