Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has been taken to hospital after collapsing at the club's training ground.
The first-team coach, 40, "had been watching the second team's session", Bayern said in a post on X.
He will be examined at hospital "and remain in medical care" and "for the time being, his coaching staff will manage training and match operations", the club added.
Kompany's condition is said to be stable, according to Sky Germany.
The Belgian, a former Burnley manager, is best known in England for the 11 seasons he spent at Premier League giants, Manchester City, eight as captain.
Bayern's sport director Max Eberl said on X that he will be given "all the time he needs" to recover, adding: "Vincent Kompany's health is our top priority.
"We at FC Bayern will do everything we can to ensure that he recovers quickly. Vinnie will receive all the necessary medical care and support, as well as all the time he needs."
The former centre-back and Belgian international was in the dugout for Wednesday's 2-2 Champions League draw against Arsenal at Bayern's Allianz Arena.
Before the match, the club said Kompany had a viral infection which forced him to miss a training session and Tuesday's pre-match media briefing.
After the tie, Kompany admitted he tried to push through the illness and ignored the signals his body was sending him.

City were quick to wish their former player "a speedy recovery" on X, describing him as a "former captain and club legend".
Kompany led the team to four Premier League title wins, along with other honours, including in 2019, when they won a quadruple of domestic trophies.
He played 338 times for City between 2008 and 2019, scoring 20 times.
Bayern Munich's next match is on Sunday away to Freiburg in the Bundesliga.
