An inquest has opened into the death of a British woman who became trapped in a wildfire while on holiday in Spain.
Lisa Fryett, 47, of Canvey Island, Essex, was staying near Bedar, Los Gallardos, with her partner, Simon Batchelor, when a fire ripped through the area.
The mother of three died in a hospital in Seville on 28 July, the inquest in Chelmsford heard on Thursday.
Essex area coroner Michelle Brown said Ms Fryett "was on holiday in Spain when she became trapped by a wildfire at the villa she was staying at".
She said that "after five or six hours this lady and her partner were rescued by emergency services".
Her provisional medical cause of death was officially recorded as "extensive burns related changes".
Ms Fryett died weeks after being rescued from the wildfires, which caused her and Mr Batchelor to suffer burns to about 40% of their bodies.
The couple reportedly begged for help so they would be able to see their children again.

A post on an online fundraising campaign to support the family, on 31 July, said that her partner Simon remained in hospital.
More than £67,000 has been raised by the GoFundMe page.
Ms Fryett's inquest was adjourned until a date to be fixed.
Wildfires raged across southern Spain this summer, with the Los Gallardos fires resulting in the deaths of at least 14 people.
