Veteran Defender Alex White Returns To Whitby Town Ahead Of Quorn Clash

Whitby Town will look to tighten their defence as they bring back veteran Alex White for a third spell ahead of their first-ever trip to Quorn in the NPL Premier this Saturday.

Defensive frailties will be the primary focus for Whitby Town this weekend following the return of veteran defender Alex White for a third spell with the Blues.

Eleven goals have been conceded by the team in their last two matches, creating an urgent need for experience and stability at the back.

A first-ever trip to Quorn in the NPL Premier awaits the squad this Saturday, presenting a fresh challenge as they look to bounce back from recent heavy defeats.

Supporters will be hoping the familiar face in defence can immediately tighten things up on the pitch and help the team secure a positive result on the road.

Discussing his return to the club with Whitby Town TV and his familiarity with the squad, Alex White said:

"Yeah, I've spoke to the lads. Yeah, you know, I've spoke to Fully, I've spoke to Denny and a couple of the lads and stuff, so I'm I'm fully aware of what's what's required of myself and sort of what's expected, so I've got to come in there and and obviously do me job and and hope obviously that I make the difference, that's maybe needed. Jack [Norton] and Gelly are going to integrate with the rest of the lads, obviously. I've played against Stuart Rose plenty of times in Cal Hickman, so you know, them boys know me from a different perspective but it doesn't take 2 minutes to sort of get to know everyone and um and see how things are, you know."

Match action will get underway at 3pm on Saturday.

Fans unable to make the journey can follow every kick through live commentary broadcast via This Is The Coast Extra.

Further build-up and reaction can be found in the latest edition of the Codcast.

The club's dedicated podcast features more in-depth thoughts from Alex White, alongside contributions from Adam Gell and boss Lee Bullock as they prepare for the crucial away fixture.
