Two teenagers charged with murder of boy, 15, in Guildford

Police investigating the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy in Surrey have charged two teenage boys with murder.

The victim, named by police as Luis Gabriel Guembes, was stabbed to death in Guildford on Monday.

The suspects, aged 15 and 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were also charged with conspiracy to rob and possession of a bladed article.

Officers were called to woodland off Lido Road in Stoke Park at 6.10pm following reports of a stabbing, Surrey Police said.

The boy was declared dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of police, paramedics, and members of the public.

A force spokesperson said his family "continue to be supported by specialist officers and our thoughts remain with them".

The suspects are due to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

A cordon was set up around the wooded area known as Peacock Wood and Wild Wood Adventure, as well as part of a car park on Lido Road.

Julia McShane, leader of Guildford Borough Council, said she was "shocked and saddened", calling the death "tragic" and "devastating".

Football club Guildford City, which has its home ground near the scene, posted a statement on X to say the club was "devastated" at news of the boy's death.

"All of our players, coaching staff, board members, and volunteers send our thoughts and prayers to his family," the club said.

Local MP Zoe Franklin wrote on Facebook: "It is difficult to find words for this tragic and devastating news. My heart goes out to the family of this young man."
