A husband charged with murdering his wife, who was found dead at a property in Norfolk, has appeared in court.
The body of Dr Hannah Cain, known professionally as Dr Hannah Terry, was found at an address in Fern Hill, Dersingham, in the early hours of Sunday.
Mark Cain, 45, of the same address, was charged with the GP's murder on Tuesday afternoon, said Norfolk Police.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Wednesday morning.
Cain spoke only to state his name, address and date of birth, and was not asked to enter a plea.
Prosecutor Jackie Hanlon told the court the ambulance service contacted the police at 2.25am on Sunday.
She said Dr Cain was "found in an upstairs bedroom not breathing, not conscious".
"She was attended to by paramedics," Ms Hanlon added.
She said a post-mortem examination "noted blunt force injury to the right side of her head had been inflicted, also an injury that could be suggestive of compression of the neck".
"There were children present in the property at the time," she said.
District judge Matthew Bone told Cain he was sending his case to the King's Lynn Crown Court where he will appear on Thursday, and he was remanded in custody.
Dersingham is a village on the edge of the royals' Sandringham estate and is about seven miles northeast of King's Lynn.

Dr Cain worked at a medical centre in nearby Grimston. A note on its website said it was temporarily closed "due to extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team". She also ran a cosmetics business.
The 45-year-old's family are being supported by specialist officers and have asked for privacy.
