Fylingdales Primary School, at Fylingthorpe, near Robin Hood's Bay officially opened on 8th June 1964.
Sixty years on, pupils, parents, staff and special guests who attended on day one, were invited to share celebrations.
That's Headteacher Helen Thompson.
She revealed the school celebrated a day early, on Friday and combined the birthday with the school's Maypole events.
