Whitby went to last season's play-off semi-finalists Stockton Town and pulled off a 0-0 draw on Saturday.

Connor Smith and Adam Gell were on holiday with midfielders Layton Watts and Jarret Rivers, centre-halves Alex Nelson and Frankie Whelan and striker Jake Charles all rested. Young defender Callum Wilson pulled up in the warm-up.
Goalkeeper Shane Bland returned to the side and was a busy man, with the hosts mainly on top.
Player-boss Liddle again had to play himself but said he was happy with pre-season and the squad he's building:
This is the Coast is committed to providing a daily local news service for the Yorkshire Coast. We do not receive any public funding or grants and we are entirely funded by our local commercial operations. We enjoy fabulous support from local businesses who work with us on their advertising and marketing campaigns, but the cost of providing high quality, well researched, fact checked local news coverage is significant.
If you appreciate what This is the Coast does, and would like to help support our journalism, please consider supporting us on a monthly basis today.
