A local Whitby firm is donating money from the hire of it's new dumper to the town's lifeboat team.
The dumper, which is available to hire in Whitby, features an image of Whitby's all-weather lifeboat George and Mary Webb on one side and the inshore lifeboat on the other.
Rob Kelly and Andrew Tyreman from Whitby Tool Hire took their shiny new dumper down to the lifeboat station this week.
The two men came up with the idea to support the RNLI as they have friends and family who are fishermen at sea. They said:
'We never know when they might need to call on the RNLI, we think it is a fantastic local charity and are proud to support it.'
The one ton, four wheel drive dumper can be hired from Whitby Tool Hire and 10% of the fees will go to the RNLI which helps pay for vital lifesaving equipment as well as up to date training for its volunteers.
Whitby RNLI Coxswain Howard Fields said:
'All of us here at Whitby RNLI would like to thank Whitby Tool Hire for this act of generosity, we know times are challenging for all businesses at the moment so this it is very much appreciated. We think the dumper looks great with the pictures of our lifeboats on the side and hope it keeps our charity in people's minds when they see it out and about in the town.'
