Two people were rescued when they were cut off by the tide today.
Scarborough RNLI’s inshore lifeboat launched just after 3pm and sped to Cornelian Bay, a mile or so south.
The walkers boarded the rescue craft and were taken to the lifeboat station.
Lifeboat operations manager Andrew Volans said:
“We advise everyone walking on the coast to please be aware of the tide times, which are published online, and plan your route carefully.
If you see anyone injured or in distress on the coast, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard."
