With around 27 minutes gone, Richie Bennett broke the deadlock for Jono Greening's men with a precise low finish.
Lewis Maloney then doubled the visitors' advantage eight minutes before half-time with a lob from the half-way line.
But not to be outdone Souleymane Coulibaly struck for Pickering with an outstanding bicycle kick, two minutes later.
Rio Allan struck the post with Dom Tear adding a third, seven minutes from the end.
Boro battle Bridlington Town on Tuesday night, at the Mounting Systems Stadium, in the Dave Holland Memorial Trophy, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
