The Samaritans in Scarborough are appealing for more volunteers.
The group is using national mental health awareness week to highlight the local services it offers and to encourage more people to get involved
Lyndsey Bowman is the branch director in Scarborough says the group needs more people to help both with taking calls and raising funds.
Lyndsey says they are looking for people to join as listening volunteers but also need people to help with the challenge of fundraising.
The charity is hosting a wear your PJ's to work day this week as part of national mental health awareness week, both to raise awareness of mental health issues and to raise funds for local services.
The main event is taking place on Saturday May 20th but the group is encouraging local businesses to hold their own PJ event at any point during the week.
Lyndsey Bowman says there is a real need for their services in the town, she hopes lots of people will get involved.
Anyone wanting to take part in the event is asked to complete and return a registration form which can be found here https://www.thisisthecoast.co.uk/news/local-news/scarborough-samaritans-putting-on-pjs-for-mental-health-awareness/
