Scarborough cocaine dealer Mark Alan Weaver has been jailed for four years.
The 33-year-old, of Spreight Lane Steps, was sentenced today (Tuesday 3 October 2023) at York Crown Court after pleading guilty last month to possession with intent to supply cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of criminal property.
Weaver was arrested by the North Yorkshire Police Operation Expedite team on the morning of Saturday 9 September 2023 after a search warrant was executed at his address.
They had gathered intelligence that Weaver was suspected of supplying weights of cocaine in Scarborough.
This included call data and mobile phone examinations which tied him to the offences.
A further search of a vehicle linked to Weaver led to the recovery of a substantial quantity of cocaine and cash.
Detective Constable Darrel Temple, of the Operation Expedite team, said:
“Drug dealers like Mark Weaver are responsible for untold misery and must be stopped before they cause more harm to vulnerable people and the community in general.
“We will continue to use all the powers at our disposal to deter and disrupt such criminal activity and bring offenders to justice.
“We again thank the outstanding support we get from residents in providing vital information about drug-related crime to the police directly or anonymously through the Crimestoppers charity.
“Trust your instincts. If something appears suspicious and out of place, it is always best to report it so we can take decisive action.”
