Scarborough Athletic Held By Tigers

Seadogs were held to a 0-0 draw by National North strugglers, on Saturday.

Jono Greening's men drew a blank at the Mounting Systems Stadium.

The Boro boss spoke to SAFC TV after the clash.

He said he was surprised the score-line ended blank against Worksop Town:

"Yeah, I actually thought there was going to be some goals today. I think in overall terms, the whole game, I think there was probably only one team who really wanted to win the game.

"And I think they've come for a draw in my opinion. I think they were organised and disciplined. They tried to play on the counter-attack or set-plays. I think, first half, it was a little bit scrappy. We gave them the main chance of the game with Brownie [Alex Brown] heading back to the keeper, which was a little bit short. Gave them a really good chance in the first half they didn't obviously score that.

"And at half-time we just wanted a bit more energy, a bit more to try and play in their half a little bit more, which I thought we did. I thought we looked like, we were camped in their half, most of the second half.

"We probably had a penalty claim in both halves of the game, but the one in the second half was probably a blatant penalty which we should have got. Keez [Weledji] had a couple of chances. Whacker's [Ste Walker] had one where he's through on goal and probably should've slotted it, but the ball was bobbling up a bit. I think he did all the right things. He calmed himself down and he had a little bit of time and he just didn't connect with the ball but it was probably as good as he wanted.

"But in terms of the result, it's another point. It's a clean sheet. I think second half, we tried to go and win the game. We just couldn't get a goal and get the full three points."

The Seadogs remain in the play-off positions, in 7th, in National North.
