With the borough topping the table for COVID fines last week officers say they will continue to enforce the lockdown rules this weekend.
Is your journey essential? that's what North Yorkshire Police are encouraging everyone to ask themselves before heading out of the house this weekend.
Chief Inspector Charlotte Bloxham says the force issued 134 fixed penalty notices last week, 50 of those were to people making unnecessary journeys.
The force says the policing plans for the Scarborough Borough are being constantly revised as they focus their efforts on enforcing the lockdown rules.
More fines were issued in the borough last week than anywhere else in the county, Chief Inspector Bloxham says the majority of those were for indoor gatherings.
