The roads around Scalby Road were closed on Monday morning to keep the public safe while police negotiators dealt with an incident.
Police reported at just before 3pm that the incident - involving a vulnerable man in a nearby property - had been brought to a safe conclusion. The man was been taken to hospital for treatment.
Local residents had reported a "great deal" of police and fire service activity in the area this morning.
