A police helicopter was used during the pursuit of car near Scarborough last night.
Traffic Sergeant Paul Cording from North Yorkshire Police says:
"Last night the driver of this vehicle near Scarborough decided he didn’t want to stop, thinking off road was the best option. Fantastic team response & with some help from the National Police Air Service North East Eye in the sky one male was taken into custody having been located nearby covered in mud & sweat"
The suspect has been interviewed and released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
Officers say there was no record of any driving licence or insurance for the driver or vehicle so it was seized as part of the Drive Insured week of action targeting uninsured drive.
