What should happen to historical artefacts from Scarborough, Whitby and Filey when the Borough Council is abolished?
Work is underway to figure out what to do with some of the Scarborough Borough's historical artefacts when the borough council is abolished in April.
The council owns a number of historical items including things like the mayoral chains for Scarborough and Whitby.
Nick Edwards is the council's Interim Chief Exec, he says a study is ongoing.
Nick Edwards, says the council's museum service is looking at what should be done with things like mayoral chains.
Nick says the items in the collection could be returned to individual towns in the borough and highlighted discussions around some of Whitby's historical items:
