Resurfacing work will mean overnight closures between Ganton and Staxton this week.
National Highways say they need to resurface the A64 between Ganton and Staxton and to do this safely, they need to close the A64 overnight between 8pm and 6am.
Work will start on Monday 21st October and will finish on Wednesday 30th October, weather permitting. They will not be working at the weekend.
The work will be carried out in two phases: Phase 1 will be a closure from Woodside Road junction to Main Street for around four nights. Phase 2 will follow from Main Street junction to the Staxton Roundabout for two nights.
National Highways say:
"We are aware that residents in Staxton will need to retain access to A64 and have contacted them directly to explain how this will happen. For all others, local diversion routes will be clearly signed."
Eastbound traffic will be diverted via the A64 westbound and via the A170, B1261 Seamer Road onto Main Street through Seamer, to rejoin the A64 north of Staxton.
Westbound traffic will follow this route in reverse.
