More council services in North Yorkshire are to be delivered through online portals as well as via traditional methods.
North Yorkshire County Council says the self-service portals are reducing the time it takes to deal with enquiries, saving money and helping to make the council's telephone helplines more reliable.
Robert Ling is the authority's assistant director for Technology, he says more services will gain self-service portals over the next 12 months:
However, the introduction of more online self service portals for county council services in North Yorkshire won't mean the end of telephone support.
