Scarborough Sea Cadets are delighted to receive a brand-new 5.3m Humber Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) — a vital addition to their fleet that will enhance both safety and on-water training.
As a recognised RYA Training Centre, this new craft will play a key role in helping cadets gain nationally-recognised boating qualifications and develop lifelong skills.
Saturday saw the official presentation at the Scarborough Sea Cadets Boat Station, with representatives from both donating organisations joining cadets to mark the occasion. It was a fantastic moment of community support and celebration.
This incredible upgrade has been made possible thanks to two generous donations:
£25,000 from the Mark Benevolent Fund – North & East Yorkshire
The Mark Benevolent Fund (M.B.F.), the charity of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons, has been supporting those in need since 1868 under the guiding principle “Bis dat qui cito dat” — He gives twice who gives promptly. With 35,000 members worldwide, the Fund continues its proud tradition of giving swift and meaningful aid to communities.
£2,500 from the Grand Sovereign’s Care for Children Fund
Formed at the turn of the Millennium by the Masonic Order of the Red Cross of Constantine, this fund focuses solely on supporting children’s welfare. With donations from nearly 5,000 Knights, it has contributed over $400,000 to children’s causes across the globe.
Scarborough Sea Cadets added in a statement:
'A huge thank you to both organisations for their generosity. Your support helps ensure our cadets can learn, grow, and thrive safely on the water.'
