New Office for East Yorkshire Mayor

Tuesday, 28 October 2025 18:51

By Andrew Spence, Local Democracy Reporter

Mayor Luke Campbell’s Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority team has agreed a deal to move into what is described as “one of Hull’s most desirable office locations.”

The authority has taken a lease on the second floor of Two Humber Quay on Hull Marina.

Two Humber Quay is owned by Hull family business, The Rix Group, which has made substantial investments in the property since acquiring it in February 2021. Earlier this year the group acquired the Atlas Leisure Homes name and model designs after the firm entered administration.

The grandeur of combined authority office buildings wildly varies across the country. They range from modern glass towers such as in Liverpool, to potentially less inspiring, aging blocks, as is seen in Birmingham.

The announcement of the lease described the building as being “one of the city’s most desirable office locations,” and “one of the most prominent and well-connected sites in the city.” Mr Campbell’s team will occupy the east office on the second floor.

Following the combined authority’s lease being agreed, the Two Humber Quays building is now fully let. Other occupiers at the site include interior design specialists Chameleon and financial services firm RSM UK, who previously occupied the second-floor space before signing a new 10-year lease on a smaller office within the building earlier this year.

Mike Fry, Director of Estates at Rix Group, said:

“We are pleased to welcome the Mayoral Office as a new tenant at Two Humber Quays. As a family-owned business with deep roots in Hull, we are committed to supporting the local community and the civic infrastructure of both Hull and the wider East Yorkshire region.”

“This new base reinforces Hull’s standing as a hub for regional governance and ensures the Mayor’s Office can operate from a central, well-connected location.” Hull and East Yorkshire Mayor, Luke Campbell, has said he is pleased that his team is to be moving to site.

He said:

“Two Humber Quays really shows off Hull at its best, with the Marina to one side and the Humber Estuary to the other. It’s a fantastic building in a great setting, and the entire Mayoral team is excited to be based there.”
