Scarborough Borough Councillors look for solutions after complaints from residents about rubbish and excrement being left behind.
Campervans should be welcomed to the Yorkshire Coast but better facilities are needed to accommodate them.
That's the view of Scarborough Borough Councillor Bill Chatt.
The council said last week it was working on a way to tackle irresponsible campervan owners after reports from residents of rubbish and human waste being left by campervans parked on roadsides.
Councillor Chatt says that's not acceptable but more needs to be done to provide facilities.
One suggestion being made to tackle the issues is to allow campervans to stay overnight in the Scarborough boroughs car parks when they aren't being used by day visitors.
Councillor Guy Coulson thinks the solution is to provide more facilities for campervan users and says using the car parks would be simple.
Councillor Roberta Swiers agrees that campervans should be welcomed to the Yorkshire Coast but that the visitors need to be respectful.
Eastfield Councillor Tony Randerson says a minority of Campervan users are causing the issues and any measures bought in to deal with the issues need to target those users.
