A 33-year-old man has been arrested and released on bail following a burglary in the Eastfield area of Scarborough where an e-bike and a games console were stolen.
A 33-year-old man has been arrested in Scarborough following a burglary in the Eastfield area that resulted in the theft of an e-bike and electronic goods.
The incident took place during the early hours of the morning on the 9th of April.
Officers attended an address on Manham Hill at approximately 12.40pm yesterday after receiving reports of the break-in.
According to the authorities, the suspect reportedly caused damage to the property in order to successfully gain access to the building.
While inside the address, the individual is reported to have stolen a Fiido-branded e-bike alongside a games console.
Following their initial enquiries into the burglary, investigating officers obtained CCTV footage from nearby buildings in the Eastfield area.
Police stated that the security footage showed the suspect arriving at the targeted property by bicycle.
Officers confirmed they were able to track the suspect down as a direct result of his distinctive build and the clothing he was seen wearing in the CCTV footage.
Upon attending the suspect's residence, officers carried out a search of the individual.
During the search, police seized drugs and associated paraphernalia that were found on the suspect's person.
The man was subsequently arrested by officers at the scene and taken into police custody for questioning regarding the break-in and the seized items.
Authorities have confirmed that the 33-year-old man has since been released on police bail.
Officers are continuing with their ongoing enquiries into the incident as they attempt to locate and retrieve the stolen e-bike and games console.
