Pensioners in the East Riding in receipt of pension credit will be automatically paid a cost of living payment if they make a claim no later than Thursday, 18 August.
This is according to East Riding Council. Claimants could be entitled to an extra £650 – which could be paid in two instalments – and to be eligible for the first payment, must be entitled to a payment of pension credit on any day from 26 April to 25 May 2022.
New claims for pension credit can be backdated for a maximum of three months provided the entitlement conditions are met throughout the three months.
