Scarborough Athletic lost 2-1 at Alfreton on Tuesday night, but remain in the National North play-off places.
Boro fell behind in the 20th minute after failing to clear a free-kick despite a neat Ryan Whitley save.
The Derbyshire hosts doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half.
However, inside six minutes of added time, the Seadogs won a penalty after Theo Chapman was upended and Luca Colville drove into the roof of the net. The home keeper refused to let go of the ball and appeared to punch Richie Bennett in a crowded box to receive a red card.
But Boro couldn't take advantage as their six-match unbeaten run was ended abruptly.
Boss Jono Greening told Paddy that the home side were as he expected:
The Seadogs stay in the National North's top seven, however.
