Pikes suffered a second defeat of the season to the Huddersfield side.
Two quick goals saw the hosts go 2-0 up, in West Yorkshire, within seven minutes of kick off.
However, Pikes fought hard and created chances of their own, against a side that beat them 2-1, at Mill Lane, earlier in the season.
Realistically, though, their chances of carving out a result ended when Jamie Thornton was sent off, after a rash challenge, eight minutes from time.
Pickering slipped to 9th, in Northern Counties East Premier, with the defeat, six points outside the play-off places.
They return to home comforts, on Saturday, when Tadcaster Albion visit, with a 3pm start.
