Thousands of brightly coloured balls will be racing down Cargate Hill in Filey later.
The Filey Lions are staging their annual ball race event, the race involves a large JCB dropping either thousands of numbered balls down an obstacle course on Cargate Hill.
Mike Gibson from the lions says it's a fast but fun event.
"We've got 3000 balls all numbered. We sell tickets with the numbers that correlate to the balls.
And it goes down Car gate Hill in Filey
We had a really good crowd last year, especially when the weather was bright. All of Cargate Hill and around the top of the Evrone centre, you get a fantastic view and. It's got so big last year.
Mike Gibson says it's become a popular event in the town and raises much needed funds for local organisations.
"There's cash prizes for the top five balls that go down the hill. First one being 150 pounds.
Basically as the balls come down the hill, we have a funnel at the end and the first five balls that run through the funnel. And if you're the lucky winner and you're there on the night, you take the money away with you.
All the money that the Lions raise, no matter what event it is, it's all used back into the local community for local charities, local organizations. It is very much filing the district that get the money back."
This is the Coast's Tom Hooper will be helping to start the race at 7:30 this evening.
