Filey's new Coastwatch team are urging members of the public to check tide times ahead of the Easter weekend.
The organisation, which opened in July, is hoping to keep people safe ahead of the bank holiday.
Deputy station manager Paul Evans says that people need to give at least two hours before the high tide time to ensure that they are safe.
The stations are operated by the National Coast Watch Institution, a charity which provides facilities and training for teams of volunteers to keep watch over coastal waters to aid safety.
Currently there are 57 Coast watch stations around the UK operated by over 2600 volunteers.
Paul already has a strong team at Filey but is hoping to attract new volunteers to ensure that they can operate throughout the year.
