Promoting the events and experiences available on the Yorkshire Coast will be the key to the area benefiting from the expected staycation boom.
The new push to reinvent the Yorkshire Coast as a go-to staycation destination will need the area to put more effort in to promoting it's attractions and activities.
A new ten year visitor strategy was backed by the borough council's cabinet earlier this week.
Tourism manager Janet Deacon says creating and promoting experiences will be really important.
Festivals and Events are are also being seen as one of the key drivers to bring more visitors to the Yorkshire Coast.
The plan is to create a year round programme of events and festivals.
Janet Deacon says events can attract large numbers of people to the coast.
