The cost of living crisis is impacting families in the East Riding and it's effects are hitting low-income households the hardest.
That's one of the findings in a report to the council's health and well being board.
Board member Councillor Kerri Harold says the research they've done so far has highlighted the scale of the problem:
Soaring food prices are making it increasingly difficult for families to afford the food they need in the East Riding.
The report presented to the county's health and wellbeing board has pulled together evidence from a number of support groups and agencies in the county.
Lisa Wilson helped compile the report and says rising prices for food and energy are now bringing new families to foodbanks for the first time.
