As the RNLI prepares to mark it's 200th anniversary the Bridlington crew have recreated a bit of history.
Over the years the image of Whitby RNLI volunteer Henry Freeman, who was born in Bridlington, has been immortalised by the Victorian photographer Frank Meadow Sutcliffe.
The image has been used by the RNLI many times over the years.
In 1861 Henry Freeman was the only survivor of the disaster that claimed the lives of all his fellow crew members during a great storm, as he was the only one to be wearing the newly designed cork lifejacket. Henry went on to serve as Coxswain of the Whitby lifeboat for 22 years
The RNLI team in Bridlington said:
"To honour the original photograph, and in celebration of the RNLI200, we have decided that we should replicate the image at Bridlington with our very own Bridlington RNLI volunteer Bob Taylor. "
The new version of the iconic photo was taken by Bridlington RNLI Press Officer Mike Milner.
