Brid Town Back To Winning Ways

Bridlington Town bounced straight back from their midweek FA Cup exit on Saturday.

Bridlington Town faced Blyth Town in the Pitching In Northern Premier League after 3 consecutive cup games.

The Seasiders' first real chance at scoring a goal came 8 minutes into the match as we saw Michael Coulson cross the ball over to Casey Stewart in who neatly put the goal into the back of the net.

The game only got better as Bridlington took many chances. 23 minutes in saw our latest recruit, Joe Batty, take his first shot of the game.

Just moments later, there was a nail-biting moment as Jonathan Dash made a great touch to avoid us conceding.

As the first half came to the last few minutes, Casey Stewart managed to fit on the score sheet once again, as also the latest recruit Ben Farrar crossed the ball to Coulson, who passed to Casey, where he once again got it past Bylth Town's shot stopper.

Stewart nearly got his hat trick in the opening minutes of the second half as he crossed the ball attempting to get it in the net; however, it just skidded past the post.

The first substitution was made in the 63rd minute as Charlie Dunkerley replaced Batty.

Just moments later saw the Seasiders scored their third goal as recently joined Farrar scored on his debut, fully securing Bridlington's 3 points.

Mike Thompson then makes his decision to replace Coulson with Jak Whiting.

In the 70th minute, Bridlington conceded a goal as Adam Johnson shot the ball past their number 1, Jonathan Dash.

As the game closed, the last substitution was made, seeing Coby Scotter replace Farrar.

Manager, Mike Thompson said after the match:

"It's always difficult going up north so a good result is all that matters, we weren't at our best in the 1st half but came in 2-0 up and we looked after our lead well.

"We got to the point in the game where we could make changes and look after bodies which was important with us playing on Monday.

"2 wins from 2 is all that matters and we move into Ferriby at home on Monday."
