Jake Hull has signed for Scarborough Athletic following his release from Rotherham United.
The 6ft 6in central defender has National League North experience, having enjoyed a number of loan spells at this level.
Boro manager Jono Greening said:
"I’m really pleased to bring Jake into the club. We’ve tried a number of times over the last few years, so I’m happy we’ve got it over the line.
Hopefully, Jake can settle in quickly and we can get to see what a good defender he is. I’m looking forward to working with the big man."
The signing is subject to League and FA approval.
The Sheffield-born defender began his career with The Millers, signing his first professional contract in 2020 and scoring on his senior debut in an EFL Trophy match in September 2021.
Despite this promising start, Hull's time at Rotherham was primarily characterized by a series of loan moves to gain experience. He had spells in the Football League with Hartlepool United and spent considerable time in non-league with clubs such as Guiseley, Boston United, and two separate stints at Buxton.
After being omitted from Rotherham's squad list for the 2024-25 season, he was officially released when his contract expired in June 2025, paving the way for his move to Scarborough.
