North Yorkshire Police are seeking public assistance regarding a concerning incident involving the shooting of a bird near Filey.
The appeal comes after a wood pigeon was shot and subsequently died from its injuries in a residential area close to the Filey Dams nature reserve.
The incident reportedly occurred between 10 AM and 3:30 PM on Friday, August 1. Authorities believe that a firearm was used in the vicinity during this timeframe.
A spokesperson from North Yorkshire Police stated,
"If anybody was in the local area at the above time and has any information, we would appreciate your cooperation with the investigation."
The police are particularly keen to hear from witnesses who may have seen or heard anything unusual during those hours.
