High grade aerial images are going to be used to try and figure out where bathing water pollution in Filey is coming from.
The Yorkshire Coast Bathing Water Partnership are trying to identify the source of bacteria that is finding it's way into the towns bathing water.
The partnership brings together local councils, the environment agency and Yorkshire Water to ensure the quality of local bathing waters.
Geraldine Sewell is from Yorkshire Water and says they have a good idea about what's causing the problem in Filey but need to employ some new technology to help pin down the precise sources.
A recent reboot of the Yorkshire Coast Bathing Water Partnership has also lead to the group setting itself higher objectives for the bathing water cleanliness along the Yorkshire Coast.
Geraldine Sewell says they are about to launch a pre-season inspection of the beaches, and will be looking to achieve higher outcomes than they have before.
As well as the working Filey, Geraldine Sewell says there are also ongoing projects in Whitby and at Scalby Mills.
The bathing partnership say their objective is:
"To achieve excellent bathing water status at all of Yorkshire's designated bathing waters"
