North Yorkshire Council says it's made massive saving's this year with around 78 percent coming as a result of last April's local Government reorganisation.
The local government changes that abolished Scarborough Borough Council and created the unitary council for North Yorkshire have helped deliver over £40m of savings in the first year.
Councillor Gareth Dadd is the Executive Member for Finance he says Local Government reorganisation has made a difference.
The changes saw the abolition of the county's district, borough and county councils which were replace with just one authority for the whole of the area.
Councillor Dadd - says the cost savings have been significant.
