Sixteen people have been killed, and 29 more injured, after a bus crash in the south Sinai area of Egypt, authorities have said.
The accident happened on the Dahab-Nuweibaa road, the health ministry said in a statement.
Dahab is around 50 miles north of Sharm el-Sheikh.
The southern Sinai peninsula is popular as a destination for tourism, especially diving and snorkelling in the Red Sea.
Dr Ahmed Al-Sabki, head of Egypt's healthcare authority, said that the injured were initially taken to the Al-Mazina Family Medicine Center. A number of them have since been transferred to the Sharm El-Sheikh International, Saint Catherine, and Al-Fayrouz Medical Complex hospitals.
A statement from the authority added that it extended its "heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of the incident".
Dahab, on Gulf of Aqaba, is known for its golden beaches, while Nuweibaa is a coastal resort which is popular with backpackers.
Last month, 15 people were killed, and 32 injured, when a pickup truck carrying workers rolled over in Egypt's Ismailia Governorate. The accident happened in front of the Al-Shabab power station in the Al-Dawawis area.
