Blue Stevens: Man, 24, stabbed to death in central London named by police

Police have named a 24-year-old man who was stabbed in central London earlier this week as Blue Stevens.

Emergency services and the air ambulance responded to reports of a stabbing in Seville Street, Knightsbridge, at around 9.24pm on Wednesday.

Mr Stevens was found with stab wounds and died at the scene.

Cards, bouquets of flowers and a blue candle have been laid on the street for the 24-year-old, who was from Yateley, Hampshire.

One note reads: "We are all absolutely devastated without you. You took a piece of my heart with you."

The incident happened near a luxury hotel, The Park Tower Knightsbridge, but did not involve any guests or staff, a Marriott spokesperson previously said.

Police have launched a murder investigation and have said they are investigating reports that the incident was an attempted robbery.

No arrests have been made and more officers - both uniformed and plain-clothed - will be on patrol in the area, the Metropolitan Police has said.

The force's Commander Christina Jessah said: "Our thoughts remain with Blue's loved ones following this tragic incident and they continue to be supported by specialist officers.

"They have asked for their privacy as they come to terms with Blue's death.

"We understand the impact this incident has had on the local community and local businesses.

"That is why we have increased the number of police on patrol in the area and I encourage the public to speak to them if they have any questions or concerns."
