What time is the Arsenal trophy parade and what's the route? Here's all you need to know

Arsenal will host a party in north London this weekend as the club celebrates winning its first Premier League title in 22 years, with hundreds of thousands of fans set to join the festivities.

The Premier League trophy will be paraded through Islington on Sunday, with four open-top buses setting off from 2pm.

It will take place a day after Arsenal face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on Saturday night, with kick-off in Budapest at 5pm UK time.

What will the parade look like?

The lead bus will feature the Premier League champions, followed by the men's team staff, then the women's team with the FIFA Women's Champions Cup.

The club says the final bus "will be a celebration of our community", featuring supporters from Arsenal in the Community programmes and a selection of Arsenal staff members nominated by their peers for their outstanding contribution to the club.

There will be no public lifting of the trophy along the route as the buses will move continuously, giving supporters a similar experience of the parade wherever they choose to stand.

The event will be free for all fans to attend.

What route will it take?

The parade will begin at the Emirates Stadium and will follow a route of around five miles that loops through Islington.

It will first turn onto Holloway Road, then Seven Sisters Road, before passing through Blackstock Road, Mount Grove Road and Green Lanes.

After passing Petherton Road, Beresford Road and Newington Green Road, the parade will travel further south down Essex Road.

It will then turn north at Angel tube station, heading along Upper Street and back onto Holloway Road, before returning to Emirates Stadium.

How will public transport be affected?

Arsenal fans are expected to flock to the parade in great numbers.

Some stations close to the route will be temporarily closed or may have changes to their normal entry and exit arrangements, with significant queues expected.

Arsenal station, Holloway Road station and Highbury & Islington will be closed, with TfL asking fans to use Finsbury Park station for the parade.

All bus routes are expected to be extremely busy, with road closures around the event meaning several will be on diversion.

Supporters are being urged to check Transport for London and National Rail Enquiries before travelling.

What about road closures?

Fans are being urged not to drive to the event.

Islington and Hackney councils will be implementing temporary parking suspensions and road closures across multiple streets in the boroughs.

Road closures are expected from 4am on Sunday until 8pm, though they may run later if necessary.

All roads along the parade route, including side roads leading up to the route, will be temporarily closed and have parking suspensions.

Safety measures

Arsenal have said the health and well-being of its supporters and community are their utmost priority during the celebrations.

The parade is being run alongside Islington Council, the police, TFL and other emergency services.

The club says there will be stewards along the route to help manage crowds, provide directions and offer assistance, along with barriers, cordons and an increased police presence.

It comes after a man ploughed his car through the crowd at the Liverpool parade on 26 May last year, leaving 134 people injured, including two babies and six other children. Paul Doyle was sentenced to 21 years and six months in jail.

Arsenal warn the event will involve standing for long periods with limited shelter, and urged fans to check the weather forecast before leaving, wear appropriate clothing and bring plenty of water if it's a hot day.

Supporters have been urged not to bring fireworks, flares or other pyrotechnics. They have also been told not to bring tents or chairs.

Fans have also been asked not to climb or attach anything to trees, lampposts, statues or other street furniture.
