Yorkshire Coast Cricket Round-Up

There were derbies galore on Saturday.

Folkton & Flixton edged out Scarborough by four wickets in Championship East.

The villagers kept their promotion hopes alive.

Boro batted first, posting 242/8 from their 50 overs.

Wicket-keeper Dan Artley made 67 from just 39 balls.

Harry Walmsley took 4/60.

Folkton's reply was anchored by Will Hutchinson's brilliant 103.

They got home with three overs remaining, despite Hayden Williamson's 3/44.

Seamer & Irton's hopes took a blow, however, after a five-wicket loss at struggling Hornsea.

Adam Morris top-scored for Seamer with 40 as they were bowled out for 121.

Impressive Hornsea opening bowlers- Adam Newington took 5/43 and Doug Griebenouw finished with 3/42.

Newington then hit 39 with the bat as Hornsea raced home inside 25 overs.

Driffield 2nds stay top of the division after posting an intimidating 302/4 from their 50 overs against Wykeham.

They put on 231 for the first wicket, with Ricky Woodmansey carrying his bat for 104 and skipper Owen Goldsworthy hitting 135 from 117 balls.

Wykeham's Ryan Souter took 2/55.

In reply, Wykeham captain Liam Eyre made 61 but they were skittled for 189.

Russell Robinson took 4/50 and Jack Riby 3/27 as Driff won by 113 runs.

Scalby were in superb form as they battered South Holderness by ten wickets.

Lachlan Cooke took 4/28 and there were three wickets each for Jack Felton and Paul Hesp as Holderness were rolled over for 137.

Scalby's openers then eased to victory on their own, Kris Johnson made 65 and Gregor Fraser 51 as both carried their bats with the win coming inside 18 overs.

In Premier 2, Bridlington beat Harrogate by 35 runs.

Calum Hatton made a scintillating 101 not out and Harvey Dixon a brilliantly destructive 80 from 62 balls as Brid made 271/4 from 50 overs.

Harrogate were then bowled out 35 runs short with Hatton taking 4/60.

Whitby lost a thriller at Norton, as they were edged out by just one wicket.

Tom Steyert's men were bowled out for 194 in 32 overs.

Chris Knight top-scored with a smashing 82 from 67 balls.

Norton 2nds then slowly ground their way home despite Whitby taking nine wickets.

Alf Jacobs took 4/48 and Mark Jackson 3/40.

The quick end to Whitby's innings supplied the extra overs needed for the hosts to slowly win it.

Driffield were batted out of their clash with Woodhouse Grange in Yorkshire Premier North.

Grange made 300/6 from 50 overs.

Jack Redshaw took 2/73.

In reply, Driff finished 47 runs short as Elliot Hatton made 57 and brother Jake 50 exactly.

Malton & Old Malton had a dramatic two-wicket win at home to Heworth in Championship Central.

The visitors were bowled out for 211 in the penultimate over.

There were two wickets each for messers Spaven, Jessani and Durrant.

Shaun Harland then made 110 as Malton got home off the last ball of the 50th over, Jessani hitting the winning runs.

Pickering were beaten in another close one by Goole.

Kieran Boyes took 6/62 as the visitors were skittled for 243.

Pickering were then dismissed just ten runs short.

Sam Hill made 100 exactly and Andrew Sharman 80.
