Her legacy has been lauded after providing many years of assistance in Scarborough.
One of Scarborough's most prolific fundraisers has passed away.
Here's Rob Scott from Yorkshire Air Ambulance:
The charity also released the following statement:
"We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jean Dixon, a much-loved and hugely valued Yorkshire Air Ambulance volunteer.
"Jean has been a passionate supporter and volunteer for over two decades and, alongside her partner Steve, has raised just shy of £1 million for the charity through their iconic Scarborough Market charity shop. Her warmth, generosity and tireless fundraising efforts have helped shape our charity into what it is today, and will leave a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
"In 2021, Jean was awarded the British Empire Medal for her outstanding services to charity - a recognition that only began to reflect her incredible contribution.
"Jean will be greatly missed by all of us at YAA. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Steve, her son Mike and all of Jean’s family and friends at this very sad time. Her legacy will live on in the countless missions she helped make possible."
